Additional overnight restrictions on I-65

Additional overnight lane and ramp closures are scheduled this week on I-65 on the southeast side of Indianapolis to allow crews to install barrier wall and place pavement markings.

The barrier wall installation will prepare the corridor for added capacity using the inside shoulder this year. Beginning as early as 5 a.m. Saturday, northbound I-65 will be reduced to two lanes between I-465 and Pleasant Run.

Overnight Restrictions

Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30

  • Southbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Morris Street and Raymond Street

Saturday, May 31

  • Southbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Raymond Street and Troy Avenue

Sunday, June 1

  • Ramp from Keystone Avenue to northbound I-65 closed
  • Northbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Keystone Avenue and Pleasant Run

All restrictions are planned between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. and are weather dependent. Drivers should plan ahead and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.

Construction Speed Limit Now Active
The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
