Beginning around 6 a.m. on or after Monday, March 30, the ramp from Keystone Avenue to southbound I-65 is scheduled to close for reconstruction. The ramp is expected to reopen in late June, weather permitting.
In addition to the ramp closure, a weekend closure is planned on northbound I-65 so crews can begin removing the abandoned railroad bridge north of Fletcher Avenue and prepare for pavement replacement work.

Northbound I-65 is scheduled to close from 9 p.m. Friday, March 27 to 5 a.m. Monday, March 30. The closure extends from the I-65/I-70 interchange south of downtown to Washington Street and includes the following ramps:
- Eastbound I-70 to northbound I-65
- Madison Avenue to eastbound I-70
- West Street to eastbound I-70
- Raymond Street to northbound I-65
- Keystone Avenue to northbound I-65
Traffic will be detoured using I-465 and I-70. Signage will be posted.
No weekend closures are planned the following weekend due to NCAA Final Four in men’s basketball, but two additional closures are expected in April.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes, when possible. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.
Naomi Street Reopens
Naomi Street is now open in both directions between Olive Street and Linden Street, marking more progress on I-65 Safety and Efficiency. Crews recently completed work to widen the I-65 bridge over the roadway and replace adjacent sidewalks.
East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive remains closed between Linden Street and Shelby Street as crews continue work on the I-65 bridge overhead.
Construction Speed Limit Active
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
