Keystone Avenue ramps reopening this weekend

Raymond Street ramp to close next week

Ramp improvements at the I-65 and Keystone Avenue interchange are nearing completion as crews continue work to improve the I-65 Safety and Efficiency corridor in southeast Indianapolis.

The following ramps are expected to reopen by Saturday night, June 6:

  • Ramp from southbound I-65 to Keystone Avenue
  • Ramp from Keystone Avenue to southbound I-65

Drivers should also prepare for ramp improvements at the Raymond Street interchange.

Beginning on or after Monday morning, June 8, the ramp from westbound Raymond Street to southbound I-65 is scheduled to close for reconstruction. It’s expected to reopen in late September.

Overnight and Weekend Restrictions

Additional overnight and weekend traffic restrictions are scheduled this week to allow crews to install overhead signage and reopen the ramps.

Drivers can expect the following restrictions:

Thursday, June 4 (11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m.)

  • Brief, 20-minute stoppages on all lanes of southbound I-65 between Keystone Avenue and Hanna Avenue

Friday, June 5 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)

  • Southbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Troy Avenue and Hanna Avenue

Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternate routes, when possible.

Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
