Overnight lane restriction and stoppages planned on I-65/I-70

The I-65/I-70 collector-distributor road between Washington Street and Fletcher Avenue in downtown Indianapolis is scheduled to be reduced to one lane overnight Friday to allow crews to safely remove a bridge pier in the area.

The restriction will be in place from 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.  Beginning at midnight, brief traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes are expected while crews safely remove the bridge pier.

Drivers should plan ahead and seek alternate routes when possible. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.

Construction Speed Limit   
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
