Overnight lane restrictions this week on I-65

Overnight lane restrictions are planned on I-65 in southeast Indianapolis for guardrail and pavement repairs, sign installation, and routine shoulder cleaning.

Tuesday, May 19 through Thursday, May 21 (9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly)

  • Northbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Hanna Avenue and Keystone Avenue

Southbound I-65 is also expected to briefly close over Ohio Street for up to 10 minutes just before 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, for overhead sign installation.

Additional rolling lane closures are expected on Thursday overnight in both directions of I-65 between the I-65/I-465 interchange and Washington Street for shoulder cleaning and pavement repairs. Rolling closures are planned between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 21.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane at times as work moves along the corridor. Drivers should use caution and slow down in the area.

Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.

Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
