Overnight ramp closures planned for paving operations near I-65/I-70 south split

Overnight ramp closures are scheduled this week for paving operations on I-65 Safety and Efficiency in southeast Indianapolis.

Drivers can expect the following closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night:

NOTE: The schedule below has been revised from the dates previously announced. The dates listed below reflect the current schedule.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

  • Ramp from Morris and Prospect streets to southbound I-65 closed

Wednesday, Sept. 2 and Thursday, Sept. 3

  • Ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-65 closed
  • Ramp from Madison Avenue to eastbound I-70 closed
  • Ramp from Morris and Prospect streets to southbound I-65 closed

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and seek alternate routes when possible.

This work is weather dependent. Schedules are subject to change if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.

Construction Speed Limit   
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
