Overnight ramp and lane closures are scheduled next week on I-65 in southeast Indianapolis to perform a traffic shift, drainage repairs, and other work.
Traffic Shift
Drivers on northbound I-65 will notice a new traffic configuration between the I-65/I-465 interchange and the I-65/I-70 interchange by Friday morning, Dec. 19. Throughout the week, crews will gradually shift traffic onto the new inside lanes built this year, with the full shift in place by Friday morning.
The following closures are scheduled:
Monday, Dec. 15 | 9 p.m. to midnight
- Southbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Raymond Street and Troy Avenue with stoppages up to 20-minutes
Monday, Dec. 15 | 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Ramps to and from Raymond Street and northbound I-65 closed
- Ramp from northbound I-65 to Morris Street and Prospect Street closed
- Northbound I-65 reduced to one lane between Bradbury Street and the I-65/I-70 interchange
Wednesday, Dec. 17 | 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Northbound I-65 reduced to one lane between the I-65/I-465 interchange and Bradbury Street
Thursday, Dec. 18 | 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Ramps to and from Keystone Avenue and northbound I-65 closed
Drivers should plan ahead and consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
Closures are weather dependent. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.
Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
