Reminder: Public Meetings for I-65 Safety and Efficiency are This Week

Two public meetings, one in-person and one virtual, will be held this week to introduce an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) project that will bring improvements to I-65 on the southeast side of Indianapolis. I-65 Safety and Efficiency is expected to reduce corridor congestion, improve traffic flow and improve safety along the corridor.

The public meetings will introduce the project and offer an opportunity for one-on-one conversations with members of the Project Team.

The nearly 5-mile project corridor begins north of the I-465 interchange and ends just north of Fletcher Avenue. The project is expected to include added capacity using the existing shoulder, the widening of three bridges, the replacement of one bridge, pavement patching and resurfacing, and improvements to multiple drainage structures.

Public Meeting – Special Accommodations

With advance notice, INDOT can provide special accommodation for persons with disabilities and/or limited English speaking ability and persons needing auxiliary aids or services such as interpreters, signers, readers or large print.

I-65 Safety and Efficiency includes planned improvements for I-65 on the southeast side of Indianapolis. The nearly 5-mile corridor stretches from north of the I-465 interchange to just north of Fletcher Avenue.

The INDOT project is expected to reduce corridor congestion, improve traffic flow and improve safety along this section of I-65. The project is in the environmental and preliminary design stage
