The directional closure planned for this weekend on southbound I-65 in southeast Indianapolis is postponed. Both lanes will remain open to traffic throughout the weekend.
The I-65 Safety and Efficiency project team is reviewing the schedule for completing necessary drainage work and will share updates as soon as they are available.
Hanna Avenue Bridge Closure
The Hanna Avenue overpass bridge is still scheduled to close on or after Monday, June 16. Hanna Avenue will close over I-65 between Brickenwood Trace and Lasalle Street for replacement. The new bridge is expected to open late this fall.
Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time, when possible.
Construction Speed Limit Now Active
The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
